Johannes Cornelis van Nieuwkerk
I am a concept and strategy developer with more than 30 years of international business development experience . I created one of the world’s first electronic collaboration tools named Telesearch in the 1980s, “Teleberatung” consumer advisory services on insurances in the 1990s, and one of the first forms of Interactive Television named TV-Windows in the 2000s. Afterward, I was a strategy consultant for many innovative companies. Encountering universal worldwide hospitality during a world-trip by car in 1988-89 and wanting to give some back, my first reaction watching one million refugees arriving in 2015, was that this is not only a humanitarian problem: it is also a business development challenge to connect such a diverse, not directly matching, group to the European labour market. In order to help refugees, I have therefore been developing conceptual frameworks to exploit potential synergies and find structural solutions to optimise integration. I hope that others will join my efforts.
